The third coin in this collection refers to an important historical figure for Estonia. Specifically, this €2 Commemorative coin was minted in 2016 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Paul Keres.

He was a renowned Soviet chess player of Estonian origin, who wrote essays and books and is considered one of the strongest players in the world who never won the world championship title.

Il 2016 doveva essere l'anno degli scrittori in Finlandia, perchè anche la seconda Commemorativa è dedicata ad uno di questi, ossia Eino Leino, Poeta noto, non a tutti, anche col nome di Armas Einar Leopold Lönnbohm. Nato nel 1878 e morto nel 1926. Commemorativa emessa il 25/04/2016 a 90 anni dalla sua morte.

Vediamo il Dritto in cui è evidente una fiamma con a sinistra il profilo, riconoscibile dalla silhouette del baffo, dello stesso Eino Leino. La fiamma sembra nascere da un arnese utile per disporre i tizzi nel camino, un attizzatoio con sotto il millesimo 2016 e la firma del Poeta in corsivo. Anche la commemorativa dedicata al Presidente Francois Mitterrand è del 2016. Coniata a 100 anni dalla sua nascita avvenuta a Jarnac il 26 Ottobre del 1916. Presidente della Repubblica in francia dal 1981 al 1995.

Nel Dritto il profilo dettagliato del Presidente che guarda a destra concentrato. We arrive at a coin of incredible historical importance for this State. Specifically, we are talking about the €2 Commemorative coin minted in 2016 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising in Ireland. Issued on 20/01/2016

The term “Easter Rising” refers to a rebellion carried out by Irish Republicans against British rule that took place during the Easter week of 1916. The uprising lasted from April 24 to April 29, 1916.

Returning to the €2 coin Ireland 2016, on the Obverse, or National Side, we can observe a magnificent representation of the statue of Hibernia, created by the sculptor John Smyth, which holds incredible historical significance. This statue is indeed located on the Irish Parliament, whose occupation marked the beginning of the uprising. Its name derives from the term used by the ancient Greeks to refer specifically to Ireland.

At the top, the inscription “HIBERNIA” is engraved, with the dates “1916” and “2016” respectively on the left and right sides of the statue.

La prossima moneta da 2 Euro Commemorativa della Lituania è stata coniata nel 2016 in onore della cultura baltica. Si tratta di una delle monete più caratteristiche e particolari di tutta la collezione per l'originalità della sua Faccia Nazionale.

Nello specifico questa moneta da 2 Euro Commemorativi Malta 2016 Amore è stata realizzata (il disegno originale) da Sarah Cilia una studentessa della scuola secondaria facente parte del programma “From children in Solidarity” promosso dal Malta Community Chest Fund.

Let's move on to another coin of incredible historical importance. In this case, we are talking about the €2 Commemorative coin minted in 2016 in honor of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Monte Carlo by Charles III or Carlo III of Monaco.

Charles III was the reigning prince of Monaco from June 20, 1856, until his death on September 10, 1889. The prince is particularly remembered for the establishment of the Monte Carlo casino, created to replenish the state’s coffers after the previous government's extravagance.

On the National Side or Obverse, we can indeed observe the representation of Charles III with Monte Carlo in the background.

Ancora una moneta che commemora un personaggio storico. La prossima moneta, la nona commemorativa slovacca, che andremo ad analizzare è stata coniata nel 2016 per commemorare la Presidenza Slovacca nel Consiglio dell’Unione Europea.

Al Dritto possiamo osservare, collocato al centro di linee dinamiche centripete, lo stemma della Repubblica Slovacca. La collocazione di quest’ultimo non è casuale in quanto ne sta ad indicare, per l’appunto, la centralità. A destra dello stemma è impresso l’anno “2016” mentre tutto intorno le scritte “SLOVENSKO” (Slovacchia) e “PREDSEDNÍCTVO SR V RADE EÚ” (Presidenza slovacca del Consiglio dell’UE).

In basso è presente il simbolo della Zecca di Kremnica “MK” (Mincovňa Kremnica) e le iniziali dell’autore. Sul bordo esterno la moneta presenta le solite 12 stelle a cinque punte che stanno ad indicare gli Stati dell’UE.

Another significant commemorative €2 coin is the one minted in honor of the 25th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Slovenia.

On the Obverse, it features the large inscription “25 LET” meaning “25 years” followed immediately below by “REPUBLIKA SLOVENIJA”. Just beneath are the words “dočákat' dan” taken from the poem “Zdravljica” by the poet France Prešeren, the Slovenian national anthem since 1990. At the bottom, there is the year of minting, and surrounding it are the classic 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.

On the Reverse, the coin is identical to all the others.

The next coin was minted in 2016 and is dedicated to the Aqueduct of Segovia. This is particularly a Roman-era aqueduct and represents one of the major examples of imperial architecture found on the Iberian Peninsula.

In 1985, it was included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Issued on 29/02/2016.

On the Obverse, we can see a representation of a part of the Aqueduct. At the top, in a circular fashion, the word ESPAÑA is present, followed immediately below by the year of issue. On the right, there is a crowned M, which is the symbol of the Madrid Mint.
Surrounding the design are the usual 12 five-pointed stars, symbolizing the countries of the European Union.

On the Obverse, we find a Gendarme facing the dome of St. Peter's Basilica positioned to the left of the man. Surrounding it are two inscriptions. At the top is “CORPO DELLA GENDARMERIA 1816 • 2016” while at the bottom is engraved “CITTA' DEL VATICANO”. To the right, we find the name of the designer, while to the left is the mint mark and the initials of the engraver.

As is customary, the 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states are present all around.

On the Reverse, we find, as with other €2 coins, the representation of Europe.

Another commemorative €2 coin minted to mark a religious event. In this case, it refers to the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.

On the Obverse of the 2016 Vatican €2 coin, we see the depiction of Saint Martin of Tours on horseback, who with his sword divides his cloak in two to share it with a poor man kneeling at his feet. The design is surrounded by two inscriptions: “JUBILEE OF MERCY” and “VATICAN CITY”.

To the right, we find the year of minting, while at the bottom are the mintmark and the names of the designer and engraver. Surrounding this are the classic 12 five-pointed stars symbolizing the member states of the European Union.
