This time, the historical figure in question is a particularly well-known sculptor. The coin we are discussing commemorates the 550th anniversary of the death of Donatello. They are the 2 Euro Commemorative Italy 2016 Donatello.

On the Obverse, the coin features the head of the David by Donatello, a sculpture housed in the National Museum of Bargello in Florence. At the top, we can see the mint mark, while at the bottom is the inscription “DONATELLO”. To the left, we find the monogram of the Italian Republic, followed below by the dates 1466 – 2016.
