Read the entire article below or use the menu below to jump straight to the topic that interests you. We also recommend reading our guide that covers how to buy coins online. Happy reading.
Introduction to Selling Coins Online
If you find yourself with a nice stash of coins at home and don't know what to do with them, you might consider simply selling them online. You don't need to have 1 or 2 kilos of coins in a bag; even a single coin of great value can allow you to turn that old piece of metal into real and ringing euros.
The process of selling coins online is easy and certainly accessible to everyone. With online auctions, you can find a myriad of buyers since the audience looking for coins is international, allowing you to optimize profits due to the greater number of bidders compared to a single person interested in your coin.
The entire process can be simplified into 3 steps:
- Prepare your coin or lot of coins for auction by taking photographs and writing an accurate description of the items.
- Submit the auction draft for review, along with the photos and descriptions, and wait for the team of experts to examine and approve (or disapprove) the lot for inclusion in an auction.
- If the lot is approved, the auction begins; if it is disapproved, make the necessary changes and resubmit it for review until it is approved.
Now, let's describe the main steps one by one, so you too can create your first online coin auction, have fun, and hopefully earn some money. Happy reading.
Step 1 – Registration
Click the button below and you will be taken to the main coin auction page. Complete the registration.
Step 2 – Category and Images
The first thing to do after registering to view the coins is to select the correct category, where our auction will then appear. It is important not to make a mistake because otherwise the auction will not be accepted or interested people will never find your coin.
So select “Coins and Banknotes” and click the blue “next” button. You will also have the opportunity to choose in detail the category and specific type of coin you will be auctioning.
Then from the list choose the correct option, for example, if you are auctioning lire coins select “Italian coins” as shown in the picture, then proceed.

Adding the right images is essential. It goes without saying that submitting a lot with poor quality, blurry, or shaky images, where the coins you want to sell are not clearly visible in detail, will certainly result in disapproval.
So invest some time in taking good photos, clear and bright. Show as many details as possible, the front and back of the coin, the year, the edge, any defects. Do you know what we do? In fact, to be even more precise, we always include a photo of the coin on a scale so that the weight of the piece is also visible, which is often an additional factor in determining the authenticity of the piece.

Step 3 – Details and Specifications
Now let's get into more detail and enter the country of origin of the coins, the currency, the year, the number of items in the lot, and all the other information that the platform requires. Among all these, very important are the description, which must be as comprehensive as possible, and the quality grade of the coins.
Now it's time to enter the data regarding the estimated value of the coin, the starting price, and the reserve price of your lot. Remember that the reserve price is the minimum price at which you want the coin to be sold.

On this new page, you will need to enter the shipping costs that the winning user of the lot will have to pay to receive the lot itself. Since the buyer may not be Italian, you should take a moment to inform yourself about the shipping costs of your coins not only in Italy but also in Europe and outside European territory.

Step 4 – Preview and Approval
Now it's time to see a preview of your lot, to see how it will appear once added to the online auctions. Make sure that all the information is correct and that all the photos have been uploaded as you wanted.
The simple summary provided will be very useful for quickly checking everything. If everything is okay, all you have to do is click “confirm and send” and your lot will be reviewed by the expert.

Now your lot will be examined to ensure it meets the standards related to the selected category. Check your email in 1 or 2 days to see the progress of the review. The expert will notify you directly via email if the auction begins or if any modifications are needed. Don’t forget to check your email for any communications; otherwise, the lot risks being disapproved.
