2 Euro Commemorative Andorra

The very first coin in this collection is the €2 Commemorative coin minted in 2014 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Andorra's accession to the European Council.

On the Obverse, we can see the number “20” perfectly engraved in the center, commemorating the anniversary. Notably, the “0” contains 12 stars representing the countries of the European Union.

At the top, the inscription “ANDORRA AL CONSELL D'EUROPA” is engraved, while on the left, the state coat of arms is prominently displayed. At the bottom, we can observe the minting year “2014”. The outer edge of the coin features the 12 five-pointed stars symbolizing the European states.

On the Reverse, the coin is represented by the Common Side, which does not differ from all other €2 coins.

The second coin in this collection is the €2 Commemorative coin from Andorra minted in 2015 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a very special event. Specifically, it refers to the granting of majority upon turning 18.

On the Obverse, we can observe the depiction of a young person casting their vote into the ballot box, an action only possible with the age of majority. Notably, the ballot bears the inscription “ANDORRA”.
Above, next to the face, the dates “1985” and “2015” are engraved. The entire design is surrounded by the inscription “30è ANIVERSARI MAJORIA D’EDAT ALS 18 ANYS” (30th anniversary of the granting of majority upon reaching the age of eighteen).

On the outer edge, as usual, are the 12 five-pointed stars symbolizing the European states.

On the Reverse, the coin is identical to any other €2 coin, featuring the Common Side.

Let's move on to the third coin in this collection. We are talking about the €2 Commemorative coin from Andorra minted in 2015 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Customs Agreement with the European Union.

On the Obverse, the map of Andorra is faithfully reproduced, with the Coat of Arms of the Principality engraved above it. Below, there are two large arrows pointing in completely opposite directions, with the dates “1990” and “2015” engraved above them, along with the word “ANDORRA”. These represent the customs agreements made between Andorra and the European Union.

At the top in an arc, the inscription reads “25è aniversari de la Signatura de l’Acord Duaner amb la Unió Europea” (25th anniversary of the signing of the customs agreement with the European Union). Surrounding the coin are the 12 classic stars representing the EU member states.

On the Reverse, it features the usual Common Side found on all €2 coins.

The next €2 Commemorative coin from Andorra is the one minted in 2016 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the New Reform of 1886. Specifically, this marks one of the most important milestones for the Principality as it signified a significant social and political change.

On the Obverse, we can see depicted the main room of the “Casa de la Vall”, the seat of the European Parliament. At the top, the inscription reads “150 ANYS DE LA NOVA REFORMA DE 1866”, with the year of issue “2016” just below. At the bottom, the word “ANDORRA” is present.
Surrounding the coin are the usual 12 stars representing the member states of the European Union.

On the Reverse, the Face is the Common one.

Also minted in 2016 was this coin. Specifically, it is the €2 Commemorative coin issued in 2016 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Andorran radio and television.

On the Obverse, we can see the depiction of a microphone and an antenna surrounded by some concentric lines. The inscription “25è ANIVERSARI DE RÀDIO I TELEVISIÓ D’ANDORRA” is engraved all around, while at the top are the words “ANDORRA” and the year of issue “2016”.

On the outer edge, as usual, are engraved the 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.

The Reverse consists of the Common Side.

The next €2 Commemorative coin from Andorra was minted in 2017 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Anthem of Andorra.

On the Obverse, the coin features a depiction of a segment of the anthem of Andorra published in 1914. This is placed exactly at the center of the coin and specifically shows the first notes of the anthem.
It is surrounded by floral decoration and the inscription “Himne Andorrà” (anthem of Andorra). At the top, the year of issue “2017” and the inscription “100 anys de l’himne d’Andorra” (100 years of the anthem of Andorra) are present.
On the outer edge, the coin features the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing European countries.

On the Reverse of the coin, the Common Side is present, identical to any other €2 coin.

Also in 2017, another 2 Euro Commemorative coin was minted for Andorra. This coin specifically honors the State of Andorra as the Country of the Pyrenees.

The National Side on the Obverse features a very distinctive design. It depicts a triangle made up of three wavy stripes, which represent, in a stylized form, the geographical map of the country.
At the bottom, the word “ANDORRA” is prominently displayed along with “EL PAÍS DELS PIRINEUS” (the country of the Pyrenees). At the bottom, the year of issue “2017” is inscribed.

As always, the coin is surrounded by the 12 five-pointed stars representing the EU member states.

Let's move on to a coin of incredible historical importance for the Principality of Andorra. Specifically, this is the €2 Commemorative coin of Andorra minted in 2018 to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Constitution.

In particular, the Andorran citizens expressed their will to become a constitutional, democratic, and social state through the referendum held on March 14, 1993, as provided by Article 1 of the Constitution.

On the Obverse, the coin features a representation of the “Monument to the Men and Women of Andorra Who Wanted the Constitution,” which is located in the square of the Consell General, the Parliament of Andorra.

To the right of the monument is a map of Andorra with the motto of the Principality, “VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR” (in unity, virtue is stronger). Surrounding the design is the inscription “25è ANIVERSARI DE LA CONSTITUCIÓ 1993-2018” (25th anniversary of the Constitution 1993-2018) accompanied by “ANDORRA.”

On the outer edge, the coin features the usual twelve five-pointed stars, a symbol of Europe.

On the Reverse, the Common Side is, in fact, no different from any other €2 coin.

In the same year as the previous coin, namely 2018, another coin was minted. This is the €2 Commemorative Coin from Andorra issued for the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

On this National Side, on the Obverse, we can see a design depicting seven stairs (which represent the seven administrative divisions of Andorra) leading to a valley. In the center, the inscription “ANDORRA 2018” is vertically embossed.

At the same time, the stairs also form the branches of a tree symbolizing humanity, from which 30 leaves sprout. These naturally represent the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Surrounding the design is the inscription in Catalan “70 ANYS DE LA DECLARACIÓ UNIVERSAL DELS DRETS HUMANS” (70th anniversary of the universal declaration of human rights).

On the outer edge, the classic 12 five-pointed stars are engraved.

As for the Reverse, it is no different from that of any other €2 coin with its Common Side.

The next coin is also very important for the Principality. In particular, it is the €2 Commemorative coin of Andorra minted in 2019 to celebrate the Alpine Ski World Cup Final held from March 11 to 17, 2019, in Grandvalira.

On the Obverse, we can observe the magnificent depiction of a skier in action on the slope surrounded by snowflakes. In the background, prominently displayed, is the event's logo. Surrounding the design is the inscription “FINALS DE LA COPA DEL MON D'ESQUI ANDORRA 2019”.
On the outer edge, as usual, the coin features the twelve five-pointed stars representing European states.

On the Reverse, we refer to the Common Side.

We have now arrived at what is, for the moment, the last coin in this collection. We are talking about the €2 Commemorative coin from Andorra minted in 2019 to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the Consell de la Terra. If you can't find the €2 Andorra coin you are looking for, it is likely among the Andorra euro division coins.

This is nothing other than the General Council of Andorra (often simply called the Consell General d’Andorra or Consell General de les Valls), which is the unicameral parliament of Andorra.

On the Obverse, we can see the coat of arms of Andorra engraved in the center, flanked by the faces of numerous individuals representing the various members of the Council over the years. At the top in a semicircle is the inscription “600 ANYS DEL CONSELL DE LA TERRA,” while slightly lower is the word “ANDORRA.”

Finally, at the bottom of the coin, the dates “1419” and “2019” are engraved one below the other.

The 2020 Andorra 2 Euro Commemorative coins were minted for the XXVII Ibero-American Summit. The Summit has been held regularly since 1991 and brings together Heads of State from 19 countries, including Andorra, which joined in 2004 and is the smallest member of the conference.

On the Obverse, the symbolic tree formed by human silhouettes (sustainable future) represents the integration of society, culture, and education, while the cogwheels (gears) indicate the synergy of ideas among the participating members.
On the left, there is a semicircular inscription reading XXVII CIMERA IBEROAMERICANA and ANDORRA 2020, while on the right is the logo of the 27th Ibero-American Summit. The colored logo consists of two fans joined at the top, one divided into three parts with the colors of the Andorran flag (blue/yellow/red) and the other divided into six colored parts representing the commitment to sustainable development goals.

The outer part of the coin features the 12 stars of the European Union.

The Reverse consists of the denomination side, the Common Side of the 2 euro coin.

Also from 2020 are the 2 Euro Commemorative coins from Andorra minted to honor the 50th anniversary of Universal Women's Suffrage in Andorra. Issued on 12/09/2020.

On the Obverse, a woman's face with closed eyes is engraved in the lower left, her thick hair formed by spiral lines created by a succession of Catalan female names. The woman represents a tribute to female unity in achieving universal voting rights.

At the top in a semicircle, the inscription 50 ANYS DEL SUFRAGI UNIVERSAL FEMENÍ is engraved, while at the bottom is ANDORRA 1990-2020.
In the outer ring of the coin, there are 12 European stars in a circle.

The Reverse features the value side of the coin, its Common Side.

The commemorative €2 Andorra 2021 100th anniversary of the coronation of Our Lady of Meritxell was issued to celebrate the centenary of the coronation of the Madonna of Meritxell as the patroness of the Principality of Andorra. Issued on 15/12/2021

The Madonna of Meritxell is a very important figure for the Andorran people. The Sanctuary of Meritxell, located in the Valira d'Orient, is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in the country.

The obverse of the coin features an image of the Madonna of Meritxell, patroness of the Principality of Andorra. The Madonna is depicted with a cloak, a veil, and a child in her arms. To her left is the symbol of a flower. In the background, there is a representation of the Sanctuary of Meritxell, the most important place of worship in the country. To the left is the date 192, at the bottom center ANDORRA, and to the right the date 2021.

Around the edge, the twelve stars of the European Union are arranged in a circle.

The reverse of the coin displays the nominal value 2 EURO, the Common Side of the coin.

The 2 Euro Andorra 2021 “Let's Take Care of Our Elders” coin is a way to celebrate the elderly and recognize their contribution to society. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the importance of caring for the elderly and building a more inclusive and respectful society. Issued on 15/12/2021

On the Obverse, there are two hands joined, with a younger hand gently holding the older one above. Below, a stethoscope can be seen, a quintessential symbol of nursing. Above is inscribed the phrase CUIDEM LA NOSTRA GENT GRAN and in the center, the word ANDORRA, with the symbols of the Coronavirus clearly visible and bordered between the two inscriptions. On the left, the date 2021 is engraved.

Surrounding it are the 12 stars of the European Union.

The 2 Euro Andorra 2022 Monetary Agreement between Andorra and the European Union was issued in 2022. Issued on 16/01/2022

The Obverse features the EURO symbol € in the top left, surrounded by 6 irregular stars. At the top, the inscription ANDORRA, to the right the dates 2012 and 2022, and at the bottom of the coin, puzzle pieces are engraved. Surrounding it are the 12 stars of the European Union.

On the Reverse is the Common Side of the 2 Euro coins.

2 Euro Andorra 2022 Charlemagne was issued in 2023 to commemorate the Legend of Charlemagne. According to the legend, Emperor Charlemagne founded Andorra in 805, granting its inhabitants their legal status. This legend is deeply rooted in the history and culture of Andorra and is represented in the design of this commemorative coin. Issued on 16/01/2022

The 2 Euro Commemorative coin Andorra 2023 UN was issued to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Andorra in the United Nations, a union that took place on May 8, 1993. Issued in 2023

On the Obverse, a stylized 30 is depicted between two olive branches, with the 0 (zero) shaped like a globe. In the upper left is the coat of arms of Andorra, to the right the inscription ANDORRA MEMBRE NACIONS UNIDES, and at the bottom center the inscription ANYS and 2023. Surrounding it are the twelve stars of the European Union.

The Reverse features the Common Side with a face value of 2€.

The 2 Euro Andorra 2023 Summer Solstice coin. Issued in 2023

On the Obverse, the sun with its rays is depicted in the background, with the inscription 2023 and ANDORRA on the right. On the left, there is an engraving of a hooded figure with a flowing cloak, spinning a flaming torch with its right arm, leaving a fiery trail in a semicircle that starts from the right and ends at the top left. Surrounding this are the 12 stars of the European Union.
