We arrive at what is probably one of the most interesting coins in this collection. In particular, we are talking about the €2 commemorative coin issued in 2017 for the nomination of Pafo as the European Capital of Culture.

Pafo is an ancient port city located at the western tip of Cyprus, which was known in antiquity for the presence of a sanctuary dedicated to Aphrodite, who, according to tradition, was born right here.

Returning to the coin, on the obverse, we can see a depiction of the ancient Odeon of Pafo, a modest-sized amphitheater dating back to the 2nd century BC. The complex today hosts summer performances and music and theater shows.

Let's move on to another truly important 2 Euro Commemorative coin from Estonia. In particular, we are talking about the coin minted in 2017 to celebrate the road of Estonia to Independence.

On the Obverse, we can observe a very significant design. It features a tree, specifically an oak, which represents the winding path of the State to achieve Independence. It is important to note that the oak has bare branches on one side and full, leafy branches on the other.

Below the bare area, the date 1917 is engraved, and metaphorically, these empty branches represent the situation of the Country before independence. For the 100 Years of Independence of Finland, also in 2017, this commemorative coin made of dots is minted. Issued on 1/6/2017.

On the Obverse of this 2 euro Finland, as already mentioned, a homogeneous surface made of dots of different sizes that fit together like mosaic tiles serves as the background, in which a silhouette can be glimpsed and the map outline of Finland is recognized. The 2017 commemorative coin is dedicated to Finnish Nature, and it does so with a beautiful design created from the union of two photographs by Kari Auvinen. The photographs were selected through a Finnish photography competition specifically to create this coin, and the figure of the raven emphasizes the spirit of adaptation of Finland, a distinctive characteristic of the bird.

We continue our journey into Spanish commemorative numismatics with this wonderful coin minted in 2017 to commemorate the Church of Santa Maria del Naranco. Issued on 6/02/2017.

This splendid church located in Oviedo was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1985.

On the Obverse, there is indeed a representation of the church's façade. At the top is the inscription ESPAÑA, while slightly to the right is the year of issue. To the left of the church façade is the crowned M, the symbol of the Madrid Mint.
Surrounding the design are the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.

Once again, a coin commemorating a very important religious event. In particular, we are talking about the €2 coin that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Madonna of Fatima.

On the Obverse, we find the depiction of the three shepherd children who saw the Virgin Mary with the Sanctuary of Fatima in the background. At the top in an arc, there is the inscription “CITTA' DEL VATICANO” with the dates 1917 and 2017 just below. Just below the date 1917, the word “FATIMA” is also engraved.

Even further down from this inscription is the mint mark R. At the bottom of the coin, we find the signatures of the designer and the engraver on the left and right, respectively. Surrounding the coin are the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states, while on the Reverse, we find the same face as the other €2 coins.

We arrive at a coin of incredible historical and religious significance. Specifically, this commemorative €2 coin has been minted to honor the 1950th anniversary of the martyrs Saints Peter and Paul.

On the Obverse, we see the effigies of the two Saints, Peter and Paul, accompanied by their symbols, namely the key and the sword. Surrounding them are two inscriptions: “CITTA' DEL VATICANO” at the top and “1950° DEL MARTIRIO DEI SANTI PIETRO E PAOLO” in the remaining space. To the right is the year of minting, to the left the mintmark, while at the bottom are the names of the designer and engraver.

As always, we can notice the 12 five-pointed stars that represent the European states surrounding the design.

The Reverse features the common face of other commemorative coins and the €2 coins.
