La prossima moneta da 2 Euro Commemorativa di Andorra è stata coniata nel 2017 per celebrare il 100° Anniversario dell’Inno di Andorra.

Al Dritto la moneta presenta la raffigurazione di un brano dell’inno di Andorra pubblicato nel 1914. Questo è collocato esattamente al centro della moneta e nello specifico sono le prime note dell’inno.

The 2017 coin also honors another Belgian university, in this case commemorating the 200th anniversary of the University of Ghent, which was issued on 29/09/2017.

On the Obverse, the logo of the prestigious University of Ghent is depicted, with the dates 1871 – 2017 below it.
Surrounding it is the inscription in a circle 200 JAAR UNIVERSITEIT GENT – 200 YEARS GHENT UNIVERSITY.

Arriviamo a quella che probabilmente è una delle monete più interessanti di questa collection. In particular parliamo della €2 commemorative coin issued in 2017 for thela nomina di Pafo come capitale europea della cultura.

Pafo è un’antica città portuale situata all’estremità occidentale di Cipro la quale era nota nell’antichità per la presenza di un santuario dedicato ad Afrodite la quale, secondo la tradizione, era nata proprio qui.

Tornando alla moneta al obverse we can see una depiction dell’antico Odeon di Pafo un anfiteatro di modeste dimensioni risalente al II secolo a.C. Il complesso oggi accoglie in estate spettacoli e rappresentazioni di musica e teatro.

Let's move on to another truly important 2 Euro Commemorative coin from Estonia. In particular, we are talking about the coin minted in 2017 to celebrate the road of Estonia to Independence.

On the Obverse, we can observe a very significant design. It features a tree, specifically an oak, which represents the winding path of the State to achieve Independence. It is important to note that the oak has bare branches on one side and full, leafy branches on the other.

Below the bare area, the date 1917 is engraved, and metaphorically, these empty branches represent the situation of the Country before independence. Below the leafy area, the inscription “EESTI” and the year “2017” are present. This area naturally represents the strength and rebirth of the Country.

Per i 100 Anni di indipendenza della Finlandia, sempre nel 2017, viene coniata questa commemorativa fatta di puntini. Emessa il 1/6/2017.

Al Dritto di questi 2 euro Finlandia, come già accennato, fa da sfondo una superficie omogenea fatta di puntini di diverse dimensioni che si incastrano come tessere di un mosaico, superficie in cui si intravede una silhouette e si riconosce il contorno cartografico della Finlandia. Sopra a sinistra la scritta in verticale e su due righe SUOMI 1917 / FINLAND 2017. Invece a destra, uno sopra l'altro, il leone araldico inscritto dentro un cerchio e la sigla della Finlandia FI.

Il 2017 dedica la sua moneta Commemorativa alla Natura Finlandese, e lo fa con un bellissimo disegno realizzato dall'unione di due fotografie di Kari Auvinen. Another coin honoring a historical figure from the Roman era. In particular, this coin was minted to commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the death of the Roman historian Titus Livius. We are talking about the 2 Euro Commemorative Italy 2017.

La moneta da 2 Euro Commemorativi Malta 2017 in questione è stata coniata per commemorare i Templi di Ħaġar Qim un complesso preistorico situato nella parte meridionale dell’isola e nominato Patrimonio Culturale dall’Unesco.

We have reached the €2 Commemorative coin minted in 2017 in honor of the 200th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Carabinieri of the Prince.

This was specifically founded by Prince Honoré IV in 1817 and, at least initially, was named the Company of Guards.

On the Obverse, the National Side of the coin features a carabiniere on the right performing the classic military salute, while another stands at attention on the left. In the background, the Palace of the Princes of Monaco is depicted.

La prossima moneta da 2 Euro commemorativa di San Marino è stata coniata nel 2017 in onore del 750° anniversario della nascita di Giotto, illustre pittore e architetto italiano.

Al Dritto possiamo osservare, posizionato a destra, un ritratto dello stesso Giotto. A sinistra sono invece collocati diversi elementi. Da destra verso sinistra troviamo infatti la scritta SAN MARINO seguita da un particolare del Duomo di Firenze, la scritta GIOTTO e le date 1627 2017. In basso invece c’è il simbolo di zecca R. L'autore è Luciana de Simoni.

La moneta da 2 Euro commemorativa di San Marino successiva è stata coniata nel 2017 per commemorare l’anno internazionale del turismo.

Al Dritto possiamo notare la rappresentazione della Terra circondata da onde. Tra le onde è inoltre visibile una piccola A in un cerchio, iniziale del disegnatore Andrew Lewis. In alto è collocata la scritta ad arco TURISMO SOSTENIBILE mentre in basso quella SAN MARINO 2017. Tra le due scritte troviamo a sinistra il simbolo di zecca R e a destra le iniziali dell’autrice UP INC Uliana Pernazza. L'autore è Andrew Lewis e l'incisore Uliana Pernazza.

La moneta successiva è la 2 Euro Commemorativa della Slovacchia coniata nel 2017 in occasione del 550° Anniversario della fondazione dell’Università Istropolitana. La decima moneta.

Al Dritto della moneta è infatti presente un disegno che vede come protagonisti un insegnante e due studenti seduti. Sullo sfondo è rappresentato lo storico edificio dell’Università di Bratislava mentre in alto a sinistra il fondatore dell’Università Mattia Corvino all'interno di un piccolo medaglione.

Tutto intorno ad arco è incisa la scritta “UNIVERZITA 1467 ISTROPOLITANA”, in basso la scritta SLOVENSKO 2017″ e a sinistra il simbolo della Zecca di Kremnica “MK” (Mincovňa Kremnica). Sul bordo più esterno la moneta reca come di consueto le 12 stelle a 5 punte che rappresentano gli Stati europei.

We arrive at the penultimate coin in this collection. Specifically, this €2 commemorative coin from Slovenia was minted to mark the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the Euro in the country.

On the Obverse, there are 10 swallows of different sizes flying in a circle, creating a sense of depth.

At the bottom, the inscription “10 LET SKUPNE EVROPSKE VALUTE” (10 years of the common European currency) is included, while at the top, the word “SLOVENIJA” is followed by the year of minting.

Surrounding it are the 12 five-pointed stars representing the member states, while on the Reverse, the coin is identical to other €2 coins.

We continue our journey into Spanish commemorative numismatics with this wonderful coin minted in 2017 to commemorate the Church of Santa Maria del Naranco. Issued on 6/02/2017.

This splendid church located in Oviedo was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1985.

On the Obverse, there is indeed a representation of the church's façade. At the top is the inscription ESPAÑA, while slightly to the right is the year of issue. To the left of the church façade is the crowned M, the symbol of the Madrid Mint.
Surrounding the design are the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.

Once again, a coin commemorating a very important religious event. In particular, we are talking about the €2 coin that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Madonna of Fatima.

On the Obverse, we find the depiction of the three shepherd children who saw the Virgin Mary with the Sanctuary of Fatima in the background. At the top in an arc, there is the inscription “CITTA' DEL VATICANO” with the dates 1917 and 2017 just below. Just below the date 1917, the word “FATIMA” is also engraved.

Even further down from this inscription is the mint mark R. At the bottom of the coin, we find the signatures of the designer and the engraver on the left and right, respectively. Surrounding the coin are the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states, while on the Reverse, we find the same face as the other €2 coins.

We arrive at a coin of incredible historical and religious significance. Specifically, this commemorative €2 coin has been minted to honor the 1950th anniversary of the martyrs Saints Peter and Paul.

On the Obverse, we see the effigies of the two Saints, Peter and Paul, accompanied by their symbols, namely the key and the sword. Surrounding them are two inscriptions: “CITTA' DEL VATICANO” at the top and “1950° DEL MARTIRIO DEI SANTI PIETRO E PAOLO” in the remaining space. To the right is the year of minting, to the left the mintmark, while at the bottom are the names of the designer and engraver.

As always, we can notice the 12 five-pointed stars that represent the European states surrounding the design.

The Reverse features the common face of other commemorative coins and the €2 coins.
