On the Obverse, the coin features two children holding the Peace flag with their hands. Above them, a dove, another symbol of Peace, has also been included. At the bottom, the circular inscription MALTA appears, while on the right is the year of minting. The author of the original design is Katya Muscat, a student from the secondary school participating in the “From children in Solidarity” program promoted by the Malta Community Chest Fund.

On the outer part, the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing the member states of the European Union are present.
