The coin we are about to discuss was minted in 2015 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the European Flag.

On the Obverse, the coin features the Flag of the European Union surrounded by 12 human figures representing the member states and the creation of a new Europe. It is particularly interesting to note that the design was chosen through an online survey by European citizens. At the top, the inscription “MALTA” is present, while to the right of the design are the dates “1985 – 2015”. Also to the right, perfectly placed between the dates and the design, are the symbols of the Utrecht mint and that of the mint director.

At the bottom are the initials of the author. The entire outer part is filled with 12 five-pointed stars representing the states of the European Union.

On the Reverse, the coin features the same face as the other 2 Euro coins.
