2 Euro Commemorative Malta 2016 Gigantia Temples — Malta €2 commemorative 2016 Templi di Gigantia — coin obverse

We move on to a coin from the following year, namely 2016. Specifically, this 2 Euro coin was minted to commemorate the Gigantia Temples located on the smaller island of Gozo and dating back to 3600 BC.

On the Obverse, the coin depicts the archaeological site, followed at the top by the inscription GGANTIJIA TEMPLES arranged in two lines with the dates “3800 – 3200 BC” below.

At the bottom of the design, the initials of the author NGB appear, and even lower is the inscription MALTA with the year of minting.

This specific coin also exists in variants where there is the mint mark or the letter F indicating France. As usual, on the outer part, there are the 12 five-pointed stars symbolizing the European states.

On the Reverse, the coin is the same as all other 2 Euro coins.
