In 2017, Portugal also minted the Commemorative coin dedicated to Raul Brandão on the occasion of his 150th Anniversary of birth. The coin was issued on 24/10/2017.

On the Obverse, the face of the writer and journalist Raul Brandão is depicted, complete with his characteristic mustache, the inevitable bow tie, and hat. To the right, it is inscribed PORTUGAL, while on the left:

Above the hat, there is the engraver's signature LUIS FILIPE DE ABREU and the symbol of the Portuguese Mint INCM. Around the outer ring in nickel, the stars of the European symbol are engraved.

The Reverse displays the nominal value of the coin.
