The commemorative coin of 2015 celebrates the 150th Anniversary of the Portuguese Red Cross. This bimetallic coin was issued on 15/04/2015.

The design featured on the Obverse of this Portuguese commemorative coin is a modular drawing that starts from the central cross, a historic symbol of the Red Cross, and multiplies, expanding through a play of repeating cubes. Below the central cross is a stylized hand, symbolizing the humanitarian service that the Red Cross provides in Portugal and abroad.
To the left along the edge, the inscription CRUZ VERMELHA PORTUGUESA is engraved, and below it are the dates 1865-2015, followed by the Mint mark INCM and the initials of the designer António Marinho AM. At the top, centrally, is the inscription PORTUGAL with the coat of arms of Portugal above it.

Surrounding it, above the nickel ring, are engraved the 12 five-pointed stars, symbolizing the European States.

On the Reverse, the coin features the Common Side with its nominal value.

The edge consists of seven castles and five coats of arms.
