The 2015 features a Commemorative coin for the 500th anniversary of the arrival in Timor. Coin issued on 15/07/2015.

On the Obverse of the commemorative coin, on the left, there is a depiction of a Caravel from the 16th century, symbolizing the arrival of the first navigators on the Island of Timor. In the foreground on the right, the thatched roof of a typical island construction characterized by wooden sculptures, with the Lisbon Mint mark INCM below.

At the top right, the date 1515 is followed by the inscription PORTUGAL, while on the bottom left, the inscription TIMOR is followed by the year 2015, along with the signature of Fernando Fonseca, the designer.
Surrounding the portrait, engraved on the copper and nickel alloy, are stars forming a circle like the logo of Europe.

The Reverse is the so-called value side, which displays the nominal value of the coin, in this case, two euros.

On the edge, seven castles and five coats of arms are engraved.
