The 2020 commemorative coin is dedicated to the University of Coimbra for its 730 Years since its founding. The coin was issued on 1/09/2020.

On the Obverse of the bimetallic coin, we see a composition of words, triangles, and the Bell Tower of the University of Coimbra. The triangles represent the roofs of the university students' houses, and among them is the inscription:

At the top right in a semicircle is the signature of the artist José João de Brito followed by the new Mint symbol CASA DA MOEDA:

On the Reverse, as usual, the Common Side is depicted with the nominal value of the commemorative coin engraved on it.
