The Obverse features a corner determined at the bottom left by two sides that intersect at the tangent of the circle. From the corner, a series of lines radiate outwards, forming a composition of geometric lines. Above this geometric design, the inscription is engraved:

At the top, vertically, the mint mark CASA DA MOEDA is engraved.

In the crown around the edge, the 12 stars symbolizing European countries are engraved in a circle.
