Slovakia €2 550 Years UNIVERSITY 1467 ISTROPOLITANA 2017 — Value and Rarity

The next coin is the 2 Euro Commemorative of Slovakia minted in 2017 on the occasion of the 550th Anniversary of the founding of the Universitas Istropolitana. The tenth coin.

On the Obverse of the coin, there is indeed a design featuring a teacher and two seated students. In the background, the historic building of the University of Bratislava is depicted, while in the upper left, the founder of the University, Matthias Corvinus, is shown inside a small medallion.

All around in an arch, the inscription “UNIVERZITA 1467 ISTROPOLITANA” is engraved, at the bottom the inscription SLOVENSKO 2017″ and on the left the symbol of the Kremnica Mint “MK” (Mincovňa Kremnica). On the outermost edge, the coin bears the usual 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.

The coin is included in the FDC Division “Universitas Istropolitana”, in the FDC Coin card and in a numismatic philatelic envelope.
