The third coin in this collection refers to an important historical figure for Estonia. Specifically, this €2 Commemorative coin was minted in 2016 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Paul Keres.

He was a renowned Soviet chess player of Estonian origin, who wrote essays and books and is considered one of the strongest players in the world who never won the world championship title.

On the Obverse, we can observe the representation of Paul Keres' face facing left, with some pieces of the chessboard below.

Also on the left, arranged in a semicircle, is the inscription “PAUL KERES,” while just below is “EESTI” followed by the year of issue “2016.”
