Full sheet for Estonia's 2012 €2 commemorative 10 Years of Euro Banknotes and Coins: estimated value, mintage and obverse description.
Description of the 2 Euro 10 Years of Euro Banknotes and Coins 2012
The very first 2 Euro Commemorative coin from Estonia was minted in 2012 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Euro banknotes and coins. This coin is common to all European States, differing only by the name of the State inscribed on it.
Specifically, on the Obverse, we can observe the representation of the Euro symbol placed at the center of the globe. This emphasizes the importance of the single currency for Europe. At the top is the inscription “EESTI” while at the bottom are the dates “2002 – 2012”.
Surrounding this are other elements that reinforce this concept. For example, we have a ship symbolizing trade exchanges, people representing European citizens and the significance of the Euro for them, a factory representing industry, and finally wind turbines symbolizing energy.
It is noteworthy that the design was chosen directly by European citizens through an online competition.
On the outer edge, as always, are the twelve five-pointed stars representing the European States.
On the Reverse, the coin appears identical to any other 2 Euro coin with its Common Side.
The coin is only available in circulation.
