For 2016, Finland chose to commemorate Georg Henrik von Wright, a Finnish philosopher born on June 14, 1916, in Helsinki and died in 2003 two days after his birthday. Coin dated 17/10/2016

The Obverse of this 2 euro Finland coin features an oak branch on the left and an ancient Doric column on the right. Starting from the left, below the oak branch, is the inscription GEORG HENRIK VON WRIGHT, while at the top is the FI abbreviation of the issuing country, the Mint symbol (the heraldic lion drawn inside a circle), and the year 2016, the latter engraved above the Doric column.
Surrounding the brass and nickel part is the nickel and copper crown with the European symbol consisting of 12 five-pointed stars arranged in a circle.

The Reverse of the coin depicts the Common Side with the nominal value of the Commemorative.

The Edge, like other coins, is finely reeded and bears the inscription SUOMI FINLAND, as well as the three lion heads.
