Description of the 2 Euro Ilmari Tapiovaara 2014
In 2014, the Commemorative Ilmari Tapiovaara was also issued, dedicated to an Artist, Designer, and Interior Architect who also worked as an assistant to Le Corbusier and with Alvar Aalto, known for the series of Domus Chairs from 1946, for the Polar Cutlery from 1963, and his taste for industrial furniture.
On the Obverse of the 2 euro coin from Finland, there is a detail of a Domus Series chair from 1946, the stackable chair made of birch wood. Below the chair is the minting year 2014, the abbreviation for Finland FI, and the mark of the Finnish Mint with the heraldic lion.
To the left, a circle formed by the inscription ILMARI TAPIOVAARA 1914-1999, the year of birth and death.
Surrounding it are the 12 five-pointed stars that form a circle (Symbol of Europe)

On the Reverse, the Common Side is engraved with the nominal value of the coin.
Meanwhile, the Edge, finely reeded, bears the inscription SUOMI FINLAND + the three heads of lions.
