The coin we will analyze in this article is one of the Commemorative coins common to all the main member states of the European Union. Specifically, we are talking about the 2 Euro Commemorative coin from Austria minted on January 2, 2009, for the 10th anniversary of the Economic and Monetary Union and, therefore, the birth of the Euro.

Once again, a coin from 2009, this time dedicated to a figure who literally changed the lives of the visually impaired, Louis Braille, the inventor of the eponymous Braille Code. Issued on 25/09/2009 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his birth.

On the Obverse of the 2 euro coin, there is a portrait of Louis Braille with his eyes closed, dressed in 19th-century French attire. Above the portrait is his name LOUIS BRAILLE, and below are the birth year and the minting year 1809 2009, separated by the Belgian initials BE. On either side of the dates, to the right is the feather, the symbol of the new Director of the Belgian Mint Serge Lesens, and to the left is the Archangel Gabriel with a cross above.
To the right and left of the bust are the typical raised spheres of the code he invented. Surrounding the central part of the coin is the ring made of copper and nickel, adorned with stars symbolizing Europe.

La primissima moneta è un pezzo che, a dirla tutta, condividono tutti gli European states. Si tratta infatti della €2 commemorative coin issued in 2009 in onore del 10° anniversary dell’Unione Economica e Monetaria.

Al obverse we can see un disegno molto particolare che rappresenta una figura umana stilizzata con di fianco il simbolo dell’Euro. Questo disegno sta ad indicare l’Euro come ultimo passo nella storia economica umana, dal baratto primitivo ad oggi.

Per i 200 Anni dall'Autonomia Finlandese, nel 2009, viene emessa questa Commemorativa, per questa moneta viene utilizzato il disegno presente nella moneta da cento euro dove si vede la facciata della Cattedrale di Porvoo. Emissione del 23/10/2009.
Riferimento alla prima Dieta di Finlandia che si è tenuta alla fine della Guerra di Finlandia, dal 25 Marzo al 19 Luglio 1809, nella Cattedrale di Porvoo

Vediamo il Dritto con al centro la parte superiore e frontale della Cattedrale di Porvoo, sopra la punta è incisa la data 1809, invece a destra quella dell'emissione 2009. A sinistra, uno sopra l'altro, la Cornucopia come simbolo di Zecca e la sigla FI come riferimento alla Finlandia.

Sempre del 2009, precisamente del 15/01/2009, una commemorativa voluta in tutti i Paesi dell'Euro Zona, quella dedicata ai 10 Anni dall'Unione Economica Monetaria detta EMU.

La parte al Dritto di questi 2 euro finlandia è quella con l'Omino preistorico stilizzato e fuso col simbolo dell'euro (€) con la firma dell'autore Georgios Stamatopoulos in basso (ΓΣ), nella parte superiore è incisa la scritta SUOMI FINLAND. Invece nella parte inferiore EMU 1999 – 2009.

É del 2009 anche la Commemorativa da 2 Euro tedesca realizzata in onore della città di Saarbrücken e alla Chiesa di San Luigi. Moneta del 6/02/2009.

Analizzando in Dritto infatti si può notare la vista frontale della Chiesa di San Luigi su sfondo neutro come per tutte le commemorative dedicate ai monumenti tedeschi. Sulla destra le iniziali dell'incisore Friedrich Brenner FB, sotto la linea di terra la scritta SAARLAND e il simbolo della Zecca Tedesca che ha coniato la moneta (A/D/F/G/J).
Per quanto riguarda invece la parte esterna della commemorativa, nel semicerchio inferiore c'è la scritta BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND, per l'appunto Repubblica Federale della Germania in lingua tedesca. Partiamo subito con una moneta davvero molto interessante. Questa moneta da 2 Euro Commemorativi Malta 2009 è stata coniata per commemorare i 10 anni dell’Unione Economica e Monetaria europea.

Presenta al Dritto una figura stilizzata che si fonde perfettamente con il simbolo dell’Euro.

La prima moneta da 2 Euro Commemorativa della Slovacchia è quella coniata nel 2009 in occasione del 20° Anniversario del 17 novembre 1989 giornata passata alla storia come la cosiddetta “Rivoluzione di Velluto”.

Now let's move on to a coin dedicated to the world of science. In particular, this commemorative €2 coin from the Vatican was minted in honor of the International Year of Astronomy.

On the Obverse, there is a beautiful geometric design divided into four parts. In the upper right section is the “Creation of the Stars” by Michelangelo, in the upper left is Galileo's telescope, in the lower left is a sundial, and in the lower right is a next-generation telescope.

At the bottom of the design, there is a sun surrounded by stars and planets. Above this design are the mintmark and the year of minting, while the names of the designer and engraver are present on the left and right, respectively.

As always, the 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states are placed around the design, while on the Reverse, we see the same face as the other common coins.
