2 Euro Commemorative Lithuania 2020 Aukštaitija

We have arrived at the 2 Euro Commemorative coin Lithuania 2020. Another coin from the five-part series dedicated to the regions of Lithuania, the second. Issued on 16/09/2020.

Specifically, this coin was minted in 2020 to represent the region of Aukštaitija.

On the Obverse, we can observe engraved the coat of arms of the region, which features a knight with a drawn sword placed at the center of a shield. The shield is then supported by two angelic figures placed on the right and left. Also on the obverse of the 2 euro Lithuania 2010, at the bottom, just below the shield, we can see a long banner with the inscription PATRIA TUAM MUNDUM EXISTIMA, which translates to “consider your homeland as the entire world”.

At the top, the inscription LIETUVA is engraved, followed immediately below by the minting year 2020. Then, at the bottom, we find the inscription Aukštaitija and the symbol of the Lithuanian Mint LMK (Lietuvos Monetų Kalykla).

On the outermost edge, as usual, there are 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.
