The 2 Euro Commemorative Latvia 2022 Erasmus Program was issued in Latvia as in all Eurozone countries and is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Erasmus Project, a student exchange program within Europe. Coin issued on 1/07/2022.

On the Obverse of the coin, there is a profile portrait of the philosopher and humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam engaged in writing the essay “In Praise of Folly”. At the bottom right, the inscription 1987-2022 ERASMUS PROGRAM LATVIJA is engraved in four lines. The signature of the author JJ (Joaquin Jimenez) is above the right hand of the portrayed philosopher. In the background, there is an intertwining of lines symbolizing movements across Europe, highlighting the number 35.

Surrounding it are the twelve stars of Europe in a circle.
