2 Euro Commemorative Latvia 2014 – Riga European Capital of Culture

The first commemorative 2 euro coin from Latvia was minted in 2014 and dedicated to Riga. Coin dated 12/08/2014.

On the Obverse of this 2 euro Latvia, a view of the city of Riga seen from the Daugava River with a view of the park, the Riga Castle in front of the Town Hall Square with St. Peter's and the Cathedral. Essentially the heart of the city of Riga, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 and European Capital of Culture in 2014.
At the top of the coin, the inscription in an arc EIROPAS KULTURAS GALVASPILSETA, below RIGA – 2014 and finally the abbreviation of Latvia itself LV.
The outer ring, made of nickel and copper, features the twelve stars which are the symbol of Europe.

Now the Reverse, which is the depiction of the Common Side, thus the same for all commemoratives.
