Description of the 2 Euro Climate Research 2022

The 2 Euro Commemorative Finland 2022 Climate Research coins were minted in Finland to raise awareness among the population regarding the ongoing Climate Change and its consequences for our Planet. Coin issued on 30/10/2022.

The lichen depicted on the Obverse, called “beard of the woods”, grows on trees, forming an intricate network of branched filaments. Below the lichen, the year of minting 2022 is engraved followed by the national mark FI, while above is engraved the Circle containing the Heraldic Lion as a mint symbol. On the left, along the edge, the inscription ILMASTOTUTKIMUS (Climate Research in Finnish) is engraved, while on the right KLIMATFORSKNING (Climate Research in Swedish).

Surrounding the coin are depicted the 12 five-pointed stars of Europe.

The face on the Reverse is the common face of the 2 EURO coins.

Edge: Along the entire lateral edge, finely milled, the engraving with the inscription: SUOMI FINLAND with 3 lion heads.
