Description of the 2 Euro Caravaggio 2021

The 2 Euro Commemorative Vatican 2021 Caravaggio was issued on 25/06/2021 and is dedicated to the 450 years since the birth of the great Italian painter Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio.

On the Obverse of the 2 euro coin, there is a depiction of the famous oil painting Boy with a Basket of Fruit from 1592, which is located in Rome. To the right of the painting is the signature of the engraver Uliana Pernazza (UP. INC). At the top, the inscription CITTÀ DEL VATICANO is engraved, below it CARAVAGGIO and the dates 1571-2021.

Surrounding the nickel part, there are 12 stars of the European Union arranged in a circle. The Reverse is the Common Side of the coin with the denomination.
