Full sheet for Ireland's 2007 €2 commemorative 50 Years of the Treaties of Rome: estimated value, mintage and obverse description.
Description of the 2 Euro 50 Years of the Treaties of Rome 2007
The first €2 Commemorative coin from Ireland that we encounter is actually a coin common to all European states. We are talking about the coin minted in 2007 to mark the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome.
On the Obverse of the €2 Ireland 2007, we can indeed observe the open Treaties, placed at the center of the coin, with a representation of the floor of Piazza del Campidoglio (the location where the treaties were signed on March 25, 1957) designed by Michelangelo.
At the top, between the pavement and the Treaties, the inscription “AN EORAIP” is engraved, while if you look even higher, you can see, arranged in two lines, the inscription “CONRADH NA RÓIMHE 50 BLIAIN”.
At the bottom of the coin, the inscription “éire” is present, followed by the minting year “2007”.
All around, you can observe the 12 five-pointed stars representing the European states.
As for the Reverse, it is important to emphasize that this is the first coin minted by the Dublin mint to feature the second type of Common Side.
The coin is included in the FDC set “50th Anniv. Treaty of Rome”, in the FS set, and in an FDC Folder.
