In 2014, the Church of St. Michael in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1985, is commemorated. Issued on 7/02/2014.

On the Obverse, a perspective view of the Ottonian complex featuring the Cathedral and the Church of St. Michael, the towers, and what was the Benedictine monastery. Below is the inscription NIEDERSACHSEN and the mint mark, which can be A/D/F/G/J depending on the issuing location of the coin.
The year 2014 is engraved at the top left, and the D for Germany (Deutschland) is always on the left but lower. The initials of the engraver Erich Ott (OE) are at the top right.

The outer ring made of copper and nickel features the stars symbolizing Europe.

The Common Side is on the Reverse of the coin, prominently displaying the nominal value of 2 euros.
