Description of the 2 Euro Bavaria: 'Neuschwanstein Castle' 2012
The 2012 issue features a Castle, specifically the Neuschwanstein in Füssen, a location in southern Bavaria. It was issued at various mints on 02/03/2012.
On the Obverse, you can recognize the detailed profile of the Neuschwanstein Castle, which includes the surrounding vegetation. Below the inscription BAYERN, to the right is the mintmark (A/D/F/G/J) and to the left are the initials of Erich Ott, the designer's engraver.
This pertains to the central part made of brass and nickel, while the outer part made of copper and nickel features the German symbol D (Deutschland) at the top right and the year 2012 at the bottom center, with a star dividing the numbers 20 and 12.
The Reverse of the coin shows the Common Side, which is the same for all two euro coins, not only in Germany but throughout Europe.
