Croatia €2 Commemorative Coins

The 2 Euro Commemorative Croatia 2023 Introduction of the Euro in Croatia is the first commemorative coin minted by Croatia as a new Member of the Euro Zone, the chosen theme is therefore dedicated to the introduction of the Euro specifically in Croatia. Issued on 15/09/2023

On the coin obverse there is a modern stylization of the € with the inscription HRVATSKA and 2023. On the left, the inscription ČLANICA EUROPODRUČJA (MEMBER OF THE EURO AREA) is engraved.

All around, the twelve stars symbolizing Europe are engraved, arranged in a circle.

The Croatia 2024 €2 commemorative dedicated to the historic centre of Varaždin opens the Croatian cities series. Issued on 2 July 2024.

The obverse shows the fortress of Stari Grad Varaždin together with the inscriptions STARI GRAD VARAŽDIN, HRVATSKA and 2024; the outer ring bears the 12 EU stars. Designed by Stjepan Divković and struck by the Croatian Mint.

Total mintage 200,000: 145,000 circulation coins, 50,000 BU coincards and 5,000 proof pieces.

The Croatia 2024 €2 commemorative honours Marko Marulić in the year dedicated to him and on the 500th anniversary of his legacy. Issued on 15 October 2024.

The obverse features the portrait of Marko Marulić, with the inscriptions HR, 2024 and MARKO MARULIĆ along the inner core. Designed by Stjepan Divković and minted by the Croatian Mint.

Total mintage 200,000: 145,000 circulation coins, 50,000 BU coincards and 5,000 proof pieces.

The Croatia 2025 €2 commemorative marks the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom and the coronation of King Tomislav in 925. Issued on 14 July 2025.

The obverse shows King Tomislav on horseback with the Croatian checkerboard in the background; the inner core also bears the inscriptions KRALJ TOMISLAV, 925, REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA and 2025. Designed by Nikola Vudrag.

Total mintage 400,000 coins; public exchange began on 8 September 2025.

The Croatia 2025 €2 commemorative dedicated to Pula – Arena continues the Croatian cities series. Issued on 24 October 2025.

The obverse shows the Pula Arena from the Adriatic side, with the church of St Anthony on the right; the inner core carries the inscriptions GRAD PULA-ARENA, HRVATSKA and 2025. Designed by Duje Botteri.

Total mintage 200,000: 190,000 circulation coins, 5,000 BU coincards and 5,000 proof pieces.

The Croatia 2026 €2 commemorative celebrates the 100th anniversary of Croatian Radio and Television (HRT), the successor to Radio Zagreb. Issued on 16 July 2026.

The obverse features radio waves arranged in five rows, symbolising the start of Radio Zagreb broadcasts in 1926, together with inscriptions dedicated to the centenary of Hrvatska radiotelevizija. Designed by Karlo Gross.

Total mintage 200,000: 190,000 for public exchange, 5,000 BU blister coins and 5,000 proof pieces.
