On the Reverse, the Italian territory is represented, topped by concentric circles symbolizing radio waves. At the bottom, the two dates of the centenary “1874 – 1974” are inscribed.

On the Obverse of these 500 Lire, with a diameter of 29 millimeters and a weight of 11 grams, is represented the bust of Piero della Francesca with arches and columns in the background. Surrounding it is the inscription REPVBBLICA ITALIANA, while below the artist's bust is the signature of the author Annalisa Valentini.

On the Reverse is a reproduction of the “Resurrection” by Piero della Francesca, with the interior of the dome of the Pantheon and a capital in the background. The year 1992 is located above the left shoulder of the risen Christ, the value L 500 and the mint mark R are found on the left.

On the Edge of this coin is inscribed PIERO DELLA FRANCESCA 1492 – 1992.

A total of 61,500 pieces were minted, all classified as uncommon

and 9,500 of these coins were minted in Proof condition.

Regarding this 500 Lire coin, there is some ambiguity about which is the obverse and which is the reverse.

The obverse of coins is generally understood as the side that bears the indication of the issuing authority, the Italian Republic, however in the issuance decree of this coin, the side depicting the portrait of Horace is described as the obverse.

On the Obverse, therefore, according to the issuance decree of March 15, 1993, the portrait of Horace is depicted facing left with a bird feather on the right. The signature of the author Maurizio Soccorsi is found small on the right, and around it reads HORATIUS.

On the Reverse, there is a capitol in “Corinthian” style, adorned with acanthus leaves. On the right, the inscription VT PICTVRA POESIS is displayed, a quote from the Ars poetica, below which is the value L 500.
On the left, the mint mark R and the year 1993 are found, and around it, the inscription REPVBBLICA ITALIANA.

On the Edge, the inscription BIMILLENARIO HORATIAN is in relief.

A total of 59,740 specimens were minted, of which 10,000 specimens were in Proof condition and classified as uncommon, NC.

1993, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bank of Italy, a triptych of commemorative silver coins of 100, 200, and 500 Lire was issued.

On the Obverse of the 500 Lire commemorative Bank of Italy, there is a female profile of Italia Turrita, facing left. Below, under a dot “•”, is the signature of the author Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini and around it is the inscription REPUBLIC OF ITALY.

On the Reverse of this coin is the Palazzo Koch, headquarters of the Bank of Italy, on which one of the two sculptural groups (“Finance, Economy, and Legislation” and “Agriculture, Industry, and Commerce”) by Nicola Cantalamessa Papotti that were located on the cornice of the building and were later removed is superimposed.

On the left and right are the years 1893 and 1993, while at the bottom is the value L.500 and the mint mark R. Around it is inscribed CENTENARY BANK OF ITALY.

On the Edge, R.I is repeated three times between laurel and oak leaves and embossed stars.

The weight and diameter of these 500 Lire are 11 grams and 29 millimeters respectively, and the mintage was 52,100 pieces in FDC and 10,400 in Proof. The latter are classified as uncommon, NC.

In the annual series of the mint of 1993, the 500 Lire Commemorative Silver was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the death of the playwright Carlo Goldoni.

On the Reverse, elements of a theater and a comedy actor are depicted. At the bottom right, the years 1793 – 1993 are shown, higher up the value L.500, and on the left the mint mark R.

The Edge features the inscription BICENTENARIO GOLDONIANO in relief.

On the Reverse, a parchment depicts the Cathedral and the Tower of Pisa, with the city's coat of arms and an anchor at the bottom. At the top left is the value L500 and on the right, the year 1993 and the mark R of the Rome mint.
On the edge, it reads in a circle “650° ANNIVERSARIO FONDAZIONE UNIVERSITA’ DI PISA”

Meanwhile, the Edge features R.I. repeated three times between laurel and oak leaves and embossed stars.

Of the 50,160 specimens of these 500 Lire commemorative coins from 1993, 9,080 specimens are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and are classified as uncommon.

These last 500 Lire have a weight of 15 grams and a diameter of 32 millimeters.
