The 10 Lire Kingdom of Sardinia Vittorio Emanuele II was minted in gold from 1850 to 1860 by the mint of Genoa and the mint of Turin.

From the title, it is clear that we are talking about a coin minted during the reign of King Vittorio Emanuele II. The mint in Turin first minted the 10 Lire Vittorio Emanuele II in gold in 1861, then in 1863 and 1865, and they are distinguished in two variants:

The coins from 1861 have astronomical values. They can start from 2,000 euros and reach frightening quotes.
- On October 23, 2010, a 10 Lire (SPL quality) from 1861 was auctioned for 18,400€.
Curiosities about the Rare 10 Lire of Vittorio Emanuele II
- One curiosity about this coin is that, not having the diameter in accordance with Italian law, it was withdrawn from circulation in 1865. In fact, according to the Latin Monetary Convention, the diameter of the coin had to be 19 mm.
- Another peculiarity of the 10 Lire coin of Vittorio Emanuele II minted in 1861 is that the King's head is smaller compared to the others.
- In 1863, however, coins of different diameters were minted, up to the final diameter of 18.5 mm.
- Moreover, it should be noted that the ten lire gold coin is less common than the 20 lire.

10 Lire Vittorio Emanuele III – Aratrice
Between 1910 and 1912, the 10 Lire Vittorio Emanuele III Aratrice were issued. Subsequently, in 1926 and 1927, more were minted for numismatists.
On the obverse, there is a depiction of King Vittorio Emanuele III in uniform looking to the left. At the bottom left is the symbol of the Savoy and around the head is the inscription “VITTORIO EMANUELE III”.
On the reverse of this rare coin, Aratrice is represented, the symbol of Agricultural Italy with a bundle of ears of corn and the plow held in the right hand. At the top of the coin is the inscription REGNO D'ITALIA and on either side of Aratrice is the value of the coin LIRE 10. At the bottom is the year of issue, a five-pointed star, and the symbol of the Mint of Rome (R). Also at the bottom are the names of the author Egidio Boninsegna and the engraver Luigi Giorgi.

- A splendid specimen of SPL rare 10 Lire from 1912 in red gold was auctioned on April 22, 2009 for 12,190 €
- On April 28, 1999, one of the 30 specimens minted for numismatists in 1927 was purchased at auction for the sum of 37 million lire. (19,600€)
- Instead, on October 20, 2015, a FDC R4 coin minted for numismatists in 1926 was auctioned for 23,600€, and it was not the only one to reach such a value!
The coins from 1910 are extremely rare, and only a few specimens remain.
10 Lire Vittorio Emanuele III – Biga
On the obverse, there is a depiction of the King’s profile without a crown looking to the left, and on the left is the inscription VITT.EM.III. and on the right is engraved the inscription RE-D'ITALIA.
On the reverse, there is the allegorical figure of Italy facing left on a biga. With the right hand, she holds the reins of the horses below and in the left hand, she holds a fascio littorio.
At the bottom of the coin are the names of the engraver A. Motti and the author G. Romagnoli. At the base of the coin, starting from the left, is engraved the date, the value of L.10, and the symbol of the mint of Rome R.
These coins were minted by the Mint of Rome from 1926 to 1930. Subsequently, they were issued only for numismatists from 1931 to 1934.

10 Lire Vittorio Emanuele III – Impero
This 10 Lire coin was minted to celebrate the Empire of King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1936. The subsequent mintings were issued for numismatists.
The obverse depicts the profile of King Vittorio Emanuele III looking to the right and around it the inscription VITTORIO.EMANUELE.III.RE.E.IMPERATORE.
On the reverse, there is an allegorical representation of Italy in the guise of a female figure standing on the bow of a ship looking to the right. In her right hand, she holds the fascio littorio and with her left hand, the vittoriola, a small effigy of victory. Above the bow of the ship is the depiction of a Savoy shield with the royal crown flanked by two fasces.
At the top is the inscription ITALIA and on the left the year of minting with the date, on the right the mark of the mint of Rome R.
Along the edge is the name of the author G. Romagnoli and at the base the value 10.L

- On April 13, 2013, a 10 Lire coin from 1938 in FDC was awarded at auction by a numismatist for the modest sum of 9,200€
- A R4 FDC 10 Lire from 1939 approached 13,000€ on April 4, 2017, when a discerning numismatist took home one of the 20 existing specimens.
- Also, a very rare R5 FDC 10 Lire from 1940 was auctioned in 1999 for 24,380,000 lire

10 Italian Lira
The very first 10 Lire coin of the Italian Republic was issued in 1946. We are talking about the 10 Lire Olivo, the second 10 Lire coin of the Italian Republic was the 10 Lire Spiga which remained in circulation until 1999 and thus until the introduction of the Euro.
10 Lire Olivo
10 Lire Olivo, or 10 Lire Ulivo, or also 10 Lire Pegaso, was minted from 1946 to 1950 by the Rome mint.
The Obverse features Pegaso, the beautiful winged horse placed above the inscription REPVBBLICA ITALIANA on two lines. Along the edge are the names of the author and engraver G. Romagnoli and P. Gianpaoli.
On the Reverse, there is an engraving of an olive branch with three olives and the leaves that separate the L. and 10 of the value in Lire. In the lower left part, there is the symbol of the Rome Mint R and below along the edge, the year of production of the coin. Along the Edge is the inscription REPVBBLICA ITALIANA

Curiosities
- The first test coin minted in 1946 bears the inscription PROVA. The inscription is engraved at the bottom right of the Olive. A true rare 10 Lire.
- The 10 Lire 1947 has two variants. The second, rarer one, features the date and smaller hooves.

The Edge is smooth without any inscription.
