2 Euro 2007 Slovenia – Rimska Pogodba 50 Let Evropa
The first 2 Euro Commemorative coin of Slovenia that we are going to discuss is the one related to the 50th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. Specifically, this coin was minted to commemorate the treaties that established the European Economic Community and EURATOM.
The coin’s obverse depicts a representation of the treaties surmounted by the word Europa. In the background is Michelangelo’s paving of Piazza Campidoglio, the place where the treaties were signed.
At the bottom there is the year of mintage followed, even lower, by the inscription SLOVENIJA. Above in an arched composition is the inscription RIMSKA POGODEA, 50 LET.
On the outer edge are the 12 stars representing the European Union states.

The next coin commemorates the 500th anniversary of the birth of Primoz Trubar, a Slovenian cleric who was well known and appreciated in his homeland.
On the obverse side, the coin shows the effigy of Primoz Trubar facing to the left. To the left of the face are two arched inscriptions. The first is “PRIMOZ TRUBAR” and the second is the dates “1508 – 1586”, corresponding to the date of birth and death of the monk.

This slovenian coin was minted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of General Franc Rozman-Stane, commander of the Partisan Army during World War II and a national hero.
The obverse depicts a stylised portrait of the general with an incuse five-pointed star at the bottom. To the right of the portrait are two vertical inscriptions: FRANC ROZMAN STANE and “2011”, and horizontally “1911 – 1944” and the inscription SLOVENIJA.

On the obverse side, the coin depicts the Queen’s bust with a very interesting pattern of vertical lines. The Queen is depicted with a sceptre and above the image there are three six-pointed stars symbolising the Counts of Celje.

2 Euro 2015 Slovenia – 2000th anniversary of the founding of Emona
This brings us to a very important 2 Euro commemorative coin from Slovenia. It was minted to commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the founding of Emona, a city of Roman origin and an important military site used as a legionary fortress. The site of Emona is now the capital city of Ljubljana.
The obverse simply bears the circular inscription “EMONA LJUBLJANA SLOVENIJA 2015”. All around are the 12 five-pointed stars representing the States of the European Union.

Slovenia’s 2 euro commemorative coin dedicated to Adam Bohorič is issued on the 500th Anniversary of his birth. Issued on 23/12/2020.
On the obverse is an inscription that can be described as multilingual, the inscription being taken from the Latin text Arcticae horulae succisivae written by Adam Bohoric himself, linguist and father of the first Slovenian alphabet, known as the Bohorič Alphabet. The two intersecting sentences are:
