2 Euro France 2007- 50th Anniversary of the Treaties of Rome
The first French commemorative 2-euro coin is the one minted in 2008 and dedicated to the Treaties of Rome.
At the obverse, in the central part in brass, the design recalls Michelangelo’s paving of the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, with the treaty signed by the six founding members in 1957 in the centre.
Below is the year of minting with the symbols of the Mint Director and the Mint itself on the sides. Above, in the centre, the two-line inscription TRAITÉ DE ROME 50 ANS. The inscription EUROPE is engraved with capital letters inside the flooring.
The 12 European stars are engraved in a circle on the outside of the coin.
At the reverse there is the same face common to all the 2 Euro coins of 2007.

On the Obverse, inside the brass-plated block, the writing is engraved in capital letters and on 6 lines: 2008 PRÉSIDENCE FRANÇAISE UNION EUROPÉENNE RF.
The number 8 of the 2008 inscription is partly engraved on the outer ring of the coin, RF stands for French Republic and the two symbols engraved at the bottom centre are the symbol of the Mint and that of the Mint Director. The coin’s outer ring, the copper and nickel crown, depicts the 12 5-pointed stars of the European Union.

In 2009 the third commemorative 2-euro coin from France was launched, the self-celebrating coin dedicated to the EURO itself.
In fact, on the Obverse there is the primitive figure accompanied by the euro symbol (€).
The subject was chosen through an online competition extended to all citizens of the countries of the European Union and chosen on January 31, 2008 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Economic and Monetary Union (EM). Coined in 2009 in all the countries of the European Union.
Under the design you can see the initials of the contest winner ΓΣ (Georgios Stamatopoulos).
The reverse of the coin is characterized by the face common to the countries of the European Union in 2009.

Here we are in 2010 and the 2 euro Commemorative French coin dedicated to the 70th anniversary of General De Gaulle’s appeal on June 18th.
The Obverse is represented by the depiction of General De Gaulle as he reads into the microphone the appeal to the French following the defeat of France during the Second World War. An appeal that determined the birth of the French Resistance.
In the center, the inscription 70 ANS 18 APPEL JUIN is engraved on the right of the General, the acronym RF ( Republique Francaise ) is instead on the sheets between the General and the microphone.
The thousandth of minting is engraved on the upper part of the coin between the symbols of the Mint and the Mint Director.

The Fête de la MUSIQUE has in fact been celebrated on the day of the summer solstice in France since 1981. At the top right in a semicircle the inscription 30° ANNIVERSAIRE. 2014 also commemorates the 70th anniversary of the historic Normandy landing.
On the obverse side, in the brass part, the inscription D DAY is stylized to represent a tank and the landing at the same time.

Here we are in 2015 which sees as many as three commemorative coins in France, one of which is the Federation Day.
The Obverse is characterized by the profile of Marianne, which has always been a symbol of the French Republic, a modernized portrait looking to the left wearing the Phrygian hat with rosette, under the rosette are engraved the initials RF as the initials of the French Republic. At the bottom there is the inscription Libertè with the year 2015 and the symbol of the Eurostar above it. In the Fondo Specchio version, the rosette is coloured with the red/white/blue tricolour.

The obverse depicts in the brass part twelve people stylized around a single Flag, that of Europe, with the 12 stars placed in a circle. The flag in the Mirror Bottom version is Blue.
Also in this case the design is the result of an online competition open to all European citizens. The winning design was then used for this commemoration of 2015 and minted in the different states with the name of the state engraved on the top of the coin and the signature of the author at the bottom right.
In fact in this case there is the engraving on the right RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE followed by the dates 1985-2015. Above the head of the last little man on the right are engraved the symbol of the Mint and that of the Director of the Paris Mint.

We arrive in 2018 and we find the commemoration of Simone Jacob Veil, a well-known French politician who survived the Shoah and has always set an example for the fight for women’s rights. It was thanks to her that the law on abortion in France was passed in 1975.
In fact, the Obverse depicts her face looking determinedly at us with below the number with which she was registered at the Auschwitz concentration camp. In the upper left part there is the inscription SIMONE VEIL with the dates 1997 – 2017 below, while in the centre of the representation of the Parliament there are the initials of the French Republic with the year 2018 below and the date 1975. Even lower down are the symbol of the Eurostar and the emblems of the Paris Mint and its Director.

In 2018, the coin with the flower of French memory, the cornflower, was also minted. A symbol of solidarity with the mutilated and veterans of war since the end of the First World War (1914/1918).

2 euro commemorative coin dedicated to General Charles de Gaulle 8 years after the Appeal of 18 June 1940. Issued on 1/02/2020.
The obverse shows the two sides of Charles de Gaulle, in the foreground the President of the French Republic and in the background the General of the Army. Both profiles look to the right and behind their heads is the initials of the French Republic RF intersecting with the Cross of Lorraine, a symbol that Charles de Gaulle himself had chosen in 1940 to denote Free France.
Under the General’s shoulder are the symbols of the French Mint and Mint Director Yves Sampo: the cornucopia and the pentagon with AGMP.

In 2021, France dedicates its commemorative to UNICEF and its 75 years of mission. Issued on 16/3/2021.
